Biography
Courtney Watts is an internationally recognised expert on Neurodiversity as a published academic on Critical Disability Studies. They won the Lawrie Bartak Prize for best research poster at the 2022 Australasian Society for Autism Researchers (ASfAR) Conference and are currently the only Autistic teacher with the NSW Department of Education to offer Neurodivergence professional development.
They are a fantasy author, with the first two books of The Ventura Series published in 2020/2021. Courtney also designed and wrote a picture book series "The Neurodivergents" under the pseudonym I.M.Orkwerd.
They have been singing since high school, have had the opportunity to be involved with productions such as “Paper Dolls” and “Fall Guy” as an extra, and has a growing presence on the standup comedy scene, having won their regional heat and securing a place in the state finals of Melbourne International Comedy Festival's RAW Comedy Competition in March 2024.
