Biography

Dhayani Yogesvaran is an actor, voice actor and singer based in Sydney, Australia. Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia she is of South Indian and Sri Lankan heritage. Music, song and dance had always been an indispensable part of celebrations and family gatherings growing up, but it was not until as a young adult that she finally embarked on her singing journey.

Dhayani sings classical pieces, musical theatre and folk. Her debut album was proudly released in December 2023. She has performed at weddings, corporate events, festivals and other bespoke events.

Dhayani is passionate about performing live without a microphone so her audience can experience the pure resonance of the human voice. Thus her artistic interests have always been to perform in acoustically interesting spaces and further explore the power of healing through music.

As a voice actor, Dhayani frequently performs advertising campaigns for radio, TV, online, corporate and audiobooks. Highlights include international health and wellness app and an international conference video targeting museum professionals. She also co-hosts a community radio program and enjoys connecting with local artists.

In addition, her role in her first feature film in 2023 inspired her to enrol in, and complete, a Singing and Acting Studio course at NIDA the following year.

Having trained as a lawyer, Dhayani has an established career in government. She has worked overseas in Canada and in Samoa as a volunteer lawyer for the Samoan Government.

Outside of the studio, she loves tango, salsa, yoga, theatre, live music and mooching with her fur baby Finley.
