Biography
2026 is a milestone year for actor and creative Jessica Trueman. She is set to appear in her first major supporting role in Bus Stop Films’ debut feature “Boss Cat”, which will be released nationwide by Madman Entertainment. Additionally, she will release her sophomore short film “Mannequin”, a project in which she wrote, co-produced and starred in with the support of Creative Australia’s MATCH Lab program.
In 2022, Jessica made her directorial debut in “A Bold Choice” and won the ‘Best Open Actor’ award for her portrayal of protagonist Alice. Additionally, she wrote and produced the film. “A Bold Choice” was selected as part of the SBS’ favourite films as part of their Focus on Ability Festival program, which was screened on SBS OnDemand and the Aurora Channel.
Jessica has previously appeared in award-winning shorts “My Name is Richard” (2019) as well as “Beneath the Eye” (2019), “Consume” (2019) and “Ella” (2021), which screened at the Academy accredited Flickerfest. She also appeared in the indie horror feature “Salt Along the Tongue” which premiered at SXSW Sydney in 2024.
She has trained at NIDA, Screenwise, Sydney Actors Collective, Acting Mastery and AAFTA, to name a few. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication (Media Arts and Production) at UTS.
Jessica is Neurodivergent and is motivated to embrace the qualities that fight perfectionism and promote our individuality.
