Biography
Jessica Trueman is an actor who embraces the unconventional. In 2022, she made her directorial debut in “A Bold Choice” and won the ‘Best Open Actor’ award for her portrayal of protagonist Alice. Additionally, she wrote and produced the film. A Bold Choice was selected as part of the SBS’ favourite films for their Focus on Ability Festival program, which was recently screened on the Aurora Channel in March 2023.
Her other credits include award winning shorts “My Name is Richard”, “Consume” (2019) and “Ella” (2021) which screened at the Academy accredited Flickerfest. Jessica was featured in the Australian feature film “Salt Along the Tongue” which had its premiere at SXSW Sydney in 2024.
She has trained at NIDA, Screenwise, Sydney Actors Collective, Acting Mastery and AAFTA to name a few. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication (Media Arts and Production) at UTS.
Jessica is Neurodivergent and is motivated to embrace the qualities that fight perfectionism and promote our individuality.
